As the Vans Warped Tour celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, fans will be treated to a special, one-night theatrical event on September 17 in more than 460 movie theaters in high-definition with Cinema Surround Sound.

Fans can look forward to two hours of performances from some of the tour’s most popular artists, including 3OH!3, All-American Rejects, Bad Religion, Blink-182, Ice T, NoFX, Rise Against, The Decaydance All Stars and Katy Perry, which will be filmed during a special performance on September 6 at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. There will also be special behind-the-scenes footage.

Tickets to the special screening are available at participating theaters and online at FathomEvents.com, where a complete list of theater locations and prices can be found.

In association with this event, Vans Warped tour will make a donation to MusiCares, which offers wide-ranging programs and services to members of the music community in times of financial, medical and personal need.

“This event has been specially created to give Vans Warped Tour fans a chance to gather nationwide in celebration of 15 incredible years and hear these amazing bands who got their start here,” said Dan Diamond, vice president of Fathom, in a statement.

Diamond continued, “One-of-a-kind performances from super groups, special behind-the-scenes access, red carpet clips and an exclusive, theater-only performance from Katy Perry are just a taste of what fans will experience from the comfort of their local movie theater.”

“I consider Warped Tour to be an essential summer rite of passage for bands and crowds alike,” added Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy and The Decaydance All Stars.

Wentz also noted, “I have met some of my best friends there and was introduced to new music, baby wipe showers and dry shampoo for the first time. More than anything I look forward to it every summer as a daylong escape for one hot day.”

The 2009 Vans Warped Tour officially launched June 26 at Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, CA. Nearly 50 cities are booked on the summer-long trek, which concludes August 23 at Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, CA.
