ONLINE auction site eBay has hit back at Ticketmaster’s new plans to sell concert tickets to the highest bidder.
As revealed in the Herald Sun yesterday, Ticketmaster will auction off the first five rows of seats at the Police’s MCG concert on January 26. . .
The concept, used in America since 2003, was designed to combat cyber scalping.
However, eBay Australia has refuted Ticketmaster’s claims punters buying Police tickets through Ticketmaster means “they know they’re legitimate”.
“That’s just nonsense,” eBay’s Daniel Fieller said yesterday.
” We have buyer protection programs in place in the unlikely event things do go wrong.”
