David Fishof’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp, which turns an ordinary guy or gal into a rock star for a day, will launch a 25-city tour next summer, Fishof told TicketNews.

The tour, which will run July 2-Aug. 12, 2008, at House of Blues and Fillmore-type venues, is the result of a one-day experiment last year in Columbus, Ohio, at Germain Amphitheatre, which was an offshoot of the five-day camps.

“Hundreds want to come, but couldn’t because they couldn’t get away for four-to-five days, or the price line was too high,” Fishof said. “For the Ohio one-day camp, five came in private planes, we had people from 30 states and the rest came from the Ohio area.”

Five-day camps cost $9,000; a four-day camp in Los Angeles cost $8,000. The one-day camp for up to 80 participants is $2,000 and will include 10 tickets per participant for that night’s show, where they perform one song as the opening act for a major act to be named. The camp will start at 8 a.m. Tour dates and rock star camp counselors will be announced on Dec. 1.

Past counselors have included Simon Kirke (Bad Company), Max Weinberg (Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band), Leslie West (Mountain), Jane Weidlin (The Go-Go’s), Alan White (Yes) and Paul Stanley (KISS).

Since its launch in 1997, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camps have been staged in L.A., New York, London, and Las Vegas, the site of its 10th anniversary camp, Nov. 7-11 at the Mandalay Hotel and Casino. Among the camp counselors are Roger Daltrey (Who), Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Slash (Guns ‘n Roses/Velvet Revolver), Joe Walsh (Eagles), Nicko McBain (Iron Maiden) and Bruce Kulick (KISS), and others.

For those unable to participate in the camps, a reality television series about the camp is in the works. Fishof recently inked a deal with Elisabeth Murdock’s Shine UK company to produce the series. The first episode will hail from London.
