California metalers Avenged Sevenfold kicked off its 20-date fall tour this week in St. Louis, MO, riding high on the strength of a top-selling album. The trek ends in a month on Dec. 6 in Tucson, AZ.

“Avenged Sevenfold,” the self-titled and self-produced follow-up to the 2005 million-selling “City of Evil,” topped the Billboard Alternative, Hard and Rock Charts this week; it was released on Oct. 30 on Warner Bros. Records. It also debuted at Number Four on the Billboard Top 200, marking the biggest sales week ever for the Huntington Beach, CA based band.

“Almost Easy,” the first single for the album, exploded into the Top 10 at Active Rock and Top 20 at Alternative in less than a month. In addition, the video for “Almost Easy” is in MTV2’s You Rock The Deuce Countdown and the Number One Most Played Video on Fuse. The video is also a First Look video on MTV’s “TRL.”
