Death Cab for Cutie is heralding the May 13 release of its new album, “Narrow Stairs,” with its first live shows in more than 18 months.

The tour kicks off April 18 in their home state of Washington at the Admiral Theatre in Bremerton, followed by a series of festival appearances, including Coachella 2008 in Indio, CA on April 26 and the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on June 15 in Manchester, TN.

“Narrow Stairs” is the follow up to the band’s 2005 Grammy Award-nominated major label debut, “Plans.” Produced by the band’s own Chris Walla, the new album will be preceded by the single, “I Will Possess Your Heart.”
