Described as a cross between Don Rickles, Archie Bunker and a vial of estrogen, Lisa Lampanelli makes her Carnegie Hall debut May 17 in the middle of a national tour that starts April 15 with shows booked through to Sept. 20. Lampanelli has earned the reputation as comedy’s queen of mean in just a few short years for her ability to make people laugh at their own stereotypes and differences.

Her popularity skyrocketed in 2002 when she was the only female comedian invited to skewer Chevy Chase on the NY Friari’s Club Roast on Comedy Central.

Since then she has become a staple of the Comedy Central Roasts, which have included Jeff Foxworthy, Pamela Anderson, William Shatner and Flavor Flav.

Her one-hour special “Dirty Girl,” which aired on Comedy Central Jan. 28, 2007, was nominated for a Grammy that year. In addition to her work on Comedy Central, Lampanelli has also taped several specials for VH1, MTV and CMT, with frequent spots on Sirius satellite radio.
