Hot on the heels of his critically acclaimed 2006 album “From A Late Night High-Rise,” ambient folk/rocker Matthew Ryan is releasing a new album, his 11th, on April 1 called “Matthew Ryan vs The Silver State” on Brooklyn, NY indie label 00:02:59. Ryan is also giving away a copy of the CD with the purchase of a ticket during the first leg of his upcoming U.S. tour, which begins May 1 in Asheville, NC.

Recorded with longtime friends and compatriots Brian Bequette (guitars, bass and piano), Steve Latanation (drums and backing vocals) and Doug Lancio (production, engineering, mixing, guitars, bass and piano), the new album also features guest contributions on vocals from Kate York and Thad Cockrell, Eoman McLouglin (The Greencards) on viola and Kris Donegan on guitar. The band Vs The Silver State is Bequette, Lantantion, Lex Price and Molly Thomas (violin).

Ryan is the latest artist to give away copies of his latest album as an incentive to buy tickets for the supporting tour. Last year, Neil Young also offered free CDs with the purchase of tickets to his fall tour. Purchases of three tickets or less per transaction received one copy of Young’s new CD; those purchasing four tickets per transaction received two copies of the CD.
