Is it Christmas? TicketsNow wants you to think so. As a promotional stunt, the company, which is about to become a division of Ticketmaster pending federal approval, is offering a 10 percent discount on Super Bowl tickets until Thursday, Jan. 31, at Midnight Central Time, a deal that began Tuesday. What they don’t tell you is that their prices for the Super Bowl start above $2,000 per ticket.

A review by TicketNews of several ticket broker sites today, Jan. 30, turned up a couple of sites that were listing Super Bowl tickets for less than TicketsNow, such as CoastToCoastTickets.com and TicketSpot.com. But for the most part, TicketsNow’s prices were comparable to the open market.

“The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event of the year and for thousands of fans, the event they have always dreamed of attending,” Mark Hodes, Senior Vice President of TicketsNow, said in a statement. The company touts the discount makes their prices the lowest for the Big Game. “We want to make sure that every fan who wants to experience this historic game in Glendale, AZ on Sunday has the chance to do so.”
