Idina Menzel, the Tony award-winning singer and actress, has booked her first string of summer tour dates in support of her debut album, “I Stand,” which was released on Warner Bros. Records earlier this year. Menzel starts her tour on June 18 in Santa Barbara, CA, and it winds down on July 28 in Atlanta, GA, with more shows to be announced shortly.

Menzel performed on the East Coast during April and made a special appearance at the 2008 National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C. Menzel’s concert at New York City’s Rose Hall in April was recorded for an upcoming special on PBS.

Produced by Grammy-award winner Glen Ballard, the album is a mix of powerhouse pop tunes and touching balladry. Her rich, soaring voice has been heard on Broadway in “Rent” and “Wicked.” The album’s first single, “Brave,” has been hailed by Billboard as “ascending to the stratosphere, amid gratifying skyscraping production.”
