Award-winning Aussie singer/songwriter Missy Higgins, fresh from her recent sold-out tour across the West Coast and Southern United States with Brett Dennen and Mason Jennings, has added another leg of dates.
Beginning July 10 in Madison, WI, the tour will take her through the Midwest and Northeast, including some Canadian dates, through August 5 in Kansas City, MO, where she will be headlining her largest U.S. venues to date. Warner Bros. label mate Eric Hutchinson will lend support, except for a sprinkling of selected solo dates on July 12 and 19 as well as August 5.
The Melbourne native will continue to keep her tour green by traveling in a bio diesel bus.
Besides being named one of Billboard magazine’s 10 Green Artists in the magazine’s “Green” issue, the United Nations profiled Higgins on her eco-initiatives and The Sierra Club has posted her PSA on its site.
Higgins’ new “Steer EP” is available online exclusively on iTunes. It features album tracks “Steer,” “100 Round the Bends” and special live versions of “All For Believing” and “Where I Stood.” More than 100,000 tracks on iTunes have been sold over recent months driven largely by her songs being featured in TV shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Smallville,” “One Tree Hill,” “Brothers & Sisters” and “The Hills.”
Her sophomore album “On A Clear Night” has yielded a #1 and a top 10 single with “Steer” and “Where I Stood.” It has been certified triple platinum in Australia and earned Huggins the 2007 ARIA Award (Australia’s Grammy) as the country’s “Best Female Artist” for two consecutive years.
