Country music is coming to Capital One Bank Theatre at Westbury in Westbury, NY on Long Island beginning June 12 and continuing through August 20. Three-time Grammy Award winner Trisha Yearwood, who has also received two Country Music Association and two Academy of Country Music awards, kicks off the eight-concert series.

Right behind Yearwood is Volunteer Jam starring Charlie Daniels Band, best known for their single “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.” Also featured at this year’s Volunteer Jam are .38 Special and Shooter Jennings.

Crowd favorite Lyle Lovett, with 13 studio albums and four Grammy Awards behind him, performs on June 24, followed by Randy Owen on July 11. Owen is best known as the lead singer of country rock band Alabama. This year, Owen released his first solo single, “Braid My Hair, and is releasing his debut album, “One on One,” in November.

Gretchen Wilson’s debut single “Redneck Woman” not only placed her on the Billboard country charts in 2004, it also earned her a Grammy. To date, Wilson has charged 11 singles on Billboard’s country charts, including “Here For The Party,” “When I Think About Cheatin'” and “Homewrecker.”

Multiple awards-winner Kenny Rogers follows Wilson on August 14. Rogers has charted more than 70 hit singles, including “The Gambler,” “Coward of the Country,” “Lucille,” and “Islands in the Stream,” a duet with country music icon Dolly Parton.

Founding Allman Brothers Band member Dickey Betts, also known as one of the most influential guitar greats, is slated for August 19. The Marshall Tucker Band will be performing with Betts.

Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill closes out the series on August 20. Gill has recorded more than 20 studio albums, charted more than 40 singles on the Billboard charts as Hot Country Songs, and has sold more than 22 million albums. The Country Music Association has honored him with 18 CMA Awards, including two Entertainer of the Year Awards and five Male Vocalist Awards.

Country music is rare in the greater metropolitan New York area since there are no country music radio stations.
