Live Nation has reorganized its California operations with the promotion of Rick Mueller to the newly created position of president of California and Nick Masters to chairman of Southern California.

In his new position, Mueller, formerly president of Live Nation’s San Francisco office will relocate to Los Angeles and oversee the joint operations of Los Angeles and San Francisco, which includes more than 2,000 shows, as well as fifteen owned and operated venues. Mueller will also oversee Live Nation’s entire booking and marketing team in California. In his new position as chairman of Southern California, Masters will take a more active role in the talent booking.

Lee Smith, who has mentored Mueller through the years, will continue as chairman of San Francisco. Matt Prieshoff, who moved to Los Angeles earlier this year, will continue as senior vice president, Venue California. Brian Murphy will continue is his business development role from the L.A. office.
