OurStage, a music discovery destination providing professional opportunities for up-and-coming talent, launched Marketplace on July 11, an online resource which enables artists and bands to proactively find and apply for gigs, and industry professionals to easily find, validate and book artists for performances and music-related projects.

In a joint trial artist development agreement, Live Nation has allowed OurStage to offer artists chosen by local music fans the unique opportunity to perform as opening acts at some of its venues in New England, Denver and the San Francisco Bay Area.

“At OurStage, we’ve worked to solve the greatest challenge on the Internet: sorting quality content from the sea of mediocrity,” said Ben Campbell, CEO of OurStage, in a statement. “We are very excited that Live Nation agreed to work with us to launch Marketplace to foster the recognition of great local music talent, give fans a voice in finding new stars, and provide chosen artists an opportunity to experience the thrill of performing on the stages of Live Nation’s great live venue network.”

The OurStage Marketplace concept started several months ago when Live Nation set out to find an artist to be a part of a concert at their 16,000 capacity Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Denver. The company discovered OurStage artist, The Beebs, and offered them the chance of a lifetime.

“We’ve been members of OurStage for almost a year and it has been great,” added Colleen Lee of the Beebs. “I’ve gotten to talk with a label rep and a major musician, not to mention opening at one of the country’s biggest venues. We’re keeping our eyes open to see what will come next out of the OurStage/Live Nation partnership. They’ve been good to us so far.”
