Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are so concerned about the recent Midwestern floods that they will auction off some front row tickets at some of their upcoming concerts to benefit the local communities. These tickets had been held back from public sales because the group generally gives these seats to people in the back rows of their concerts as a showing of their care for their fans. All proceeds from the auctions, including face value of the tickets and all associated fees, will go to Habitat for Humanity.
The minimum bid for a pair of tickets is $1,000, with quantities extremely limited in each city. The auctions have already started for the July 3 show at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, IN and the July 5 concert at Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI. The auctions will end on July 2 at 5pm local time.
Auctions for the July 8 show at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, OH and the July 9 show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, GA start on July 1 and will end on July 7 at Noon local time.
Auctions for additional non-festival shows will start on July 7 with details forthcoming.
