Jam band Phish and pop trio Jonas Brothers are among the artists performing special events with ticket sales closing during the week ending March 9, 2009, as compiled by TicketNews.
Fans eager to witness Phish‘s official return to the tour circuit still have time to purchase three-day passes for the group’s March 6-8 stand at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA. The weekend concert series will feature the first official performance by Phish since the group disbanded in 2004. The iconic jam band will launch a month-long tour this summer, with concerts currently booked from June 4-5 in Wantagh, NY, through June 20-21 in East Troy, WI.
As the 2009 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo enters its first week of events at Reliant Stadium in Texas, ticketing is wrapping up for this week’s scheduled one-night performances. One of the most hyped concerts of the week is the March 8 performance by tween sensation, Jonas Brothers. The Sunday concert event is the last North American performance currently scheduled for the sibling trio during winter and spring 2009.
In addition to the tween heartthrobs, Houston Rodeo’s opening week will feature a number of other performers. Rascal Flatts takes the stage tonight (March 3), followed by Alan Jackson on March 4, Clay Walker on March 5, Gladys Knight and Solange on March 6, Trace Adkins on March 7, and Lady Antebellum on March 9.
More notable recording artists will be hitting club, theater and arena stages across the country this week for the final performances of their current tour legs. Legendary musician Van Morrison will complete his Beacon Theatre stand on March 3-4 in New York City before heading back to his native UK. Meanwhile pop-rock outfit Jimmy Eat World will wrap up its winter itinerary with three last shows this week: March 4 at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA; March 5 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA; and March 7 at Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ.
“Last Chance” information is compiled at the beginning of the week, based on touring acts whose current itineraries are closing over the course of that week. The availability of tickets for Last Chance events depends on primary and secondary seller inventory, and may vary as tickets are sold in the days leading up to each event.
