The 11th annual Voodoo Experience returns again on Halloween weekend, from October 30 through November 1, in New Orleans’ historic City Mark. The 2009 event marks the third time the three-day music fest coincides with Halloween.

Last year’s event included performances from hometown Grammy winner Lil Wayne, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, R.E.M. and more than 130 acts. Details for this year’s line-up and ticketing information will be announced in the coming months.

Three distinct performance areas — Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le Carnival — and eight stages will each highlight a unique side of New Orleans’ personality. In addition to music, New Orleans’ bohemian culture, arts and cuisine will also be celebrated.

Set in historic City Park, amidst lush lagoons, bayous and one of the largest collections of mature oak trees in the world — all in the shadow of the New Orleans Museum of Art and just minutes from the French Quarter and Central Business District — this festive New Orleans celebration is steeped in the city’s culture and influences.
