Ticketmaster’s TicketExchange, the company’s ticket resale site, has developed relationships with dozens of ticket brokers who resell NFL tickets on the site, according to the Washington Post. The Ticketmaster/broker relationships are something teams are aware of but they they distance themselves from, even though Ticketmaster imposes a service fee on the sales, a portion of which is shared with the team. In addition, the brokers are not allowed to resell tickets for below face value – which may benefit customers looking for bargains or brokers looking to unload unpopular tickets – as a way to protect the profits of team owners.
