While a back injury prevented Slayer and Megadeth from completing their early 2010, the metal titans have rallied together to reschedule the trek for later this year. The crews’ recently postponed American Carnage Tour dates are now set for summer 2010.
Six Canadian performances, originally booked for November 2009, will now run July 23 at Pavillon de la Jeunesse in Quebec City, QC, through July 30 at the John Labatt Centre in London, ON. After a brief break, the tour will sweep down into the states for nearly 20 more gigs from August 11 at the Civic Center in Glens Falls, NY, through September 4 at the Washington County Fair Complex in Hillsboro, OR.
Of all the American dates postponed last month, only five were not rescheduled due to booking issues. Refunds will be available for tickets to the cancelled concerts on January 27 in El Paso, TX; January 29 in Houston, TX; January 31 in Nashville, TN; February 1 in Duluth, GA; and February 2 in Louisville, KY.
While a handful of shows were ultimately axed from the itinerary, Slayer and Megadeth added four markets to their summer 2010 run. These routing supplements are slated for August 18 at Time Warner Cable Amphitheater in Cleveland, OH; August 23 at Capitol Federal Park in Bonner Springs, MO; August 29 at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, CA; and September 1 at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA.
Original tickets from the postponed concerts will be honored on the rescheduled dates. New ticket sales for the tour will start February 5, according to Megadeth’s official Web site. Metal band testament will provide support throughout the late summer outing.
While health issues put the kibosh on the Slayer’s winter plans, their would-be co-headliners charted their own tour to fill the time. Just a couple weeks after postponements were publicized, Megadeth announced a spring tour with testament and Exodus.
