Fenway Park claimed the spot of number one venue for the week ending Sunday, April 11, according TicketNews’ exclusive venues rankings. The Park offers fans some of the costliest tickets this season, but it still packs them in as its Boston Red Sox retain the top spot of TicketNews’ Top Sports Events rankings for the sixth consecutive week. Fenway Park finished the week with a power score of 3.03.

The Toyota Center made it to number two in the rankings this week, power scoring a 2.22. The Center is home to the Houston Rockets, who’ve been eliminated from NBA playoff contention. The venue also hosts Taylor Swift (at number four in this week’s Top Concert Events rankings) for two shows in May as well as Michael Buble (number ten this week) and Lady Gaga (at number one in Top Concerts) in July.

Just edged out of second place this week, the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX came in at number three with a power score of 2.21. The venue is home court to the Dallas Mavericks, who’ve clinched the Southwest Division of the Western Conference and are playoff-bound. The well-attended WWE tour, at number seven in this week’s Top Sports rankings, makes a stop at the Center in June. Michael Buble and Lady Gaga also hit the stage at the Center in July.

Up four spots from last week, the New Yankee Stadium finished the week in the number four position. Home to the legendary New York Yankees, the Stadium benefits from ticket sales strong enough to take the Yanks to number two in this week’s Top Sports rankings. The New Yankee Stadium finished the week with a power score of 2.19.

The Gershwin Theatre in New York City dropped three slots down to number five this week. The Gershwin is a perennial top fiver due to continued brisk sales for its Tony Award winning musical, Wicked, which led both the Top Broadway and Top Theater Events categories this week, and came in second for Top Combined Events. The Gershwin Theatre power scored a 1.93 this week.

Madison Square Garden (MSG) also dropped one this week to land in the number six position. With a power score of 1.86, MSG is home to both the New York Knicks and New York Rangers, neither of whom achieved playoff berths this season. The WWE tour makes a stop at the venue in June. In concerts, MSG will host Lady Gaga in July and Justin Bieber (at number two in this week’s Top Concerts) in August.

The Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., arrived on the list this week at number seven. With a power score of 1.72, Verizon is home to the playoff bound Washington Capitals, who lead the NHL’s Southeast Division and have clinched the President’s Trophy. The venue also hosts the Washington Wizards, who are out of playoff contention this season. In concerts, the Center has Taylor Swift performing in June and Lady Gaga in September.

The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV made its way back into the top ten this week, finishing at number six. Also power scoring a 1.72, the Arena will host the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Shane Mosley bout scheduled for May 1. In music, the venue has the Eagles performing (at number nine in Top Concerts) next week, with James Taylor and Carole King (at number eight) in July and Lady Gaga in August.

Down three to the number nine position, the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA finished the week with a power score of 1.49. Staples is home court to the Los Angeles Lakers, who have the Western Conference title. The NBA’s L.A. Clippers and the NHL’s L.A. Kings also call the venue home. In music, Taylor Swift arrives for two shows this week, and Lady Gaga hits the stage in August. The WWE also makes a stop in August.

The Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA debuted this week in the number ten spot. Next season’s home to the Pittsburgh Penguins is scheduled to open in August of this year, hosting musical acts like Lady Gaga, who arrives in September. The Consol Energy Center power scored a 1.44 this week.

Baseball venues are making their way back into the top ten, with basketball and hockey venues still showing some strength as their seasons wind down. The Gershwin is the sole theater venue in the top ten this week.
