With just a few weeks to go before he returns to the road for his fall tour of the United States, American musician John Mellencamp has rolled out a fresh batch of dates that will set him back on the road in the New Year.

The singer-songwriter’s newest leg of dates will begin February 3 at Lowell memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA, and features more than a dozen concert dates. The early 2011 run of mid-sized theaters ends on March 5 at Moran Theater in Jacksonville, FL, though a third U.S. leg is expected to be announced in the near future.

Along the way, the rock veteran’s East Coast venture will make stops on February 15 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC; February 18 at Radio City Music Hall in New York, NY; and February 27 at Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA. Mellencamp will also push into Canada for events on February 6 at National Arts Centre in Ottawa, ON, and February 9 at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON.

Public ticket sales for the winter 2011 jaunt begin October 15 in every market except New York City, where onsales begin a day later on October 16. Ticket prices for the new Mellencamp concerts will vary slightly, but most are set around the $40 to $50 mark, based on Ticketmaster.com listings.

The heartland rocker launches his No Better Than This Tour at the end of this month with an October 29-30 stand at Indiana University Auditorium in Bloomington, IN. That portion of the North American trek will visit almost 20 markets through a November 26-27 stand at Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL.

Mellencamp is supporting his most recent studio album, “No Better Than This,” released on August 17 release. The effort debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200, making it Mellencamp’s tenth album to land in the Top 10.

“No Better Than This” is also Mellencamp’s most recent album to be produced by T Bone Burnett. The veteran musician will acknowledge his ties to the famed producer with a pair of appearances at Burnett’s upcoming “Speaking Clock Revue” shows on October 16 at the Wang Center in Boston, MA, and October 20 at the Beacon Theatre in New York, NY.
