Altadena, CA (Goldstar) January 27, 2011 – Goldstar, the company that is using the power of the Internet to make live entertainment a part of everyone’s life, and TED, the nonprofit devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading,” announced a new partnership Wednesday, January 26 at a private reception with special guests at Broadway’s Foxwoods Theatre followed by a performance of the much anticipated “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”

Beyond supporting the TED brand, Goldstar is planning a TEDxLive event in Los Angeles timed with a session of the TED2011 conference. They are designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. At TEDx events, a screening of TEDTalks videos — or a combination of live presenters and TEDTalks videos — sparks deep conversation and connections. The TEDx program has grown exponentially over the past couple of years, reaching a global audience of millions.
“As experts in getting people to live events, we feel supporting the TEDx program allows us to use our strengths to further the goal of getting the TED message and TED experience to as many people as possible,” adds McCarthy.
