PRESS RELEASE: “The Atlanta Botanical Garden Switches to Ticket Alternative for Concerts in the Garden”

Atlanta, GA (Ticket Alternative) May 20, 2011 — In a move to save their customers money, as well as gain great customer service and client support, the Atlanta Botanical Garden have chosen Ticket Alternative as the ticketing solution for the annual Concerts in the Garden series.

“In choosing Ticket Alternative, we wanted to support a hometown company with a track record for excellent customer service while also using a vendor that will reduce our concert patrons’ overall fees when purchasing tickets online,” said Mary Pat Matheson, the garden’s executive director.

Concerts have been held on the Garden’s great lawn since 1984, with the “Concerts in the Garden” series starting in 2003. This year’s lineup is as impressive as ever, with bluesman Johnny Lang playing on June 3, hometown duo Indigo Girls playing on July 8 and 9, legendary singer-songwriter Steve Earle playing on July 15, folk star Emmylou Harris playing on July 22 and Chicano rock band Los Lobos on August 26.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden members’ tickets went on sale Friday, April 22, and it was a smooth operation that left customers happy. The general on sale started Friday, May 6.

“The first day of ticket sales for our Wells Fargo Advisors Concerts in the Garden series went extremely well,” said Jason Diem, visitor services manager for the Atlanta Botanical Garden. “Ticket Alternative President Iain Bluett was on hand to make sure everything went well, and garden members were able to quickly purchase their tickets without any issues.”

“We’re ecstatic that the Atlanta Botanical Garden chose Ticket Alternative as their ticketing partner for the Concerts in the Garden series,” said Ticket Alternative President Iain Bluett. “When a local, revered venue switches to us, it’s an indication that our dedication to superior customer service and client support is paying off.

“The Atlanta Botanical Garden selected us over Ticketmaster, their previous provider, because we offer lower convenience fees to their customers and because they wanted a partner who would work more closely with them to build and promote their events. I think the notion of a boutique ticketing experience was attractive to the Atlanta Botanical Garden and it is something we can offer that a large company can’t.

“All of us at Ticket Alternative are looking forward to a long a successful partnership with the Atlanta Botanical Garden.”
