Tickets for upcoming concert dates from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra as well as tickets to various upcoming NHL games are on sale throughout the weekend ending September 12 as compiled by TicketNews.
This weekend’s onsales start off with tickets to several upcoming concerts from holiday favorites Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Founded in 1993, the band has had great success both in album sales as well as concert sales, with their albums selling over 8.5 million copies while their concerts have sold more than 8 million tickets. The band is best known for their Christmas and holiday themed albums, songs from which are the subject of their annual winter tour. Tickets for this year’s tour stops throughout North Carolina are on sale today.
Also among the weekend’s onsales are tickets to seven upcoming stops for the upcoming Cirque du Soleil show “Michael Jackson the Immortal World Tour.” The show is set to combine Jackson’s music with Cirque’s traditional acrobatic based stage shows. Following the North American leg of the tour, which is currently set to run through 2012, the show will begin a sit-down production at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas in 2013. Tickets for the seven shows, including stops in Chicago, will be on sale Monday.
This weekend also offers tickets to several NHL teams’ home seasons. First up, tickets for the 2011 Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins are among today’s onsales. The Bruins, who captured their first Stanley Cup since 1972, will look to repeat their success of last year. Also among today’s onsales are tickets to the New Jersey Devils’ upcoming season. The Devils will be looking to rebound from a disappointing season last year, which saw them missing the playoffs for the first time since 1996.
Continuing with the NHL onsales are tickets to the upcoming Ottawa Senators season. Much like the New Jersey Devils, the Senators are coming off a disappointing season which saw them missing the playoffs. The Senators have hired a new coaching staff in the offseason and will also be the hosts of this year’s NHL All-Star Game. Among the Saturday onsales are tickets to the Florida Panther’s upcoming season. The Panthers, who have had a string of disappointing seasons, have been in a rebuilding process for the past few years, which the team hopes will pay off in a big way this season.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
