Since 2001, the Baltimore-based online ticketing service MissionTix has been a fixture for the ticketing needs of area venues. More recently, the company has looked to expand outside of the Baltimore area, and this month it is launching a new festival ticketing product to help drive national sales.

MissionTix’s Festival Ticketing and Marketing System is a customized package of services to help festival organizers and promoters navigate all stages of concert organization, from the initial planning stages through the actual event itself.

Among the services included in the system are Web site design and site hosting; social media and e-mail marketing management; and various online and offline promotion elements.

MissionTix’s Festival Ticketing and Marketing System will also allow for greater integration between clients and the company’s parent MissionMedia, a full-service advertising, graphic design, film and online marketing business. Co-founder and principal Joe Loverde sees the ability to link ticketing and marketing as one of MissionTix’s greatest assets.

“We are also working to combine our MissionTix and MissionMedia services to a greater extent,” Loverde told TicketNews. “Since MissionTix is a part of MissionMedia, it allows for us to provide venues with more than just a boilerplate ticket site. We are able to do marketing for the venue and help with Web support and other areas beyond simply providing ticket sales.”

An offshoot of MissionMedia, which was formed in 2000, MissionTix began when a venue-owner friend of Loverde asked for help with ticket sales for a concert the friend had scheduled.

Since that fortuitous day, MissionTix has become one of the leading online ticketing sites throughout the greater Baltimore area, with recent expansion into other East Coast and Midwest areas.

“We do a lot of Maryland venues, but have also worked for venues in Washington, DC; Virginia; and New Hampshire,” Loverde said. “We also sell for clubs across the country, particularly through our work with fan club ticketing, which has a national reach.”

Among the venues and festivals MissionTix currently serves are Filmfest DC, the Maryland Film Festival, Starscape, Fourth Street Live in Lousiville, and the State Theatre in DC.

MissionTix offers a wide range of services to its clients, including online and traditional ticketing; mobile device support; box-office software; fan club ticketing; and Facebook-integrated ticket purchasing.

According to Loverde, upcoming improvements to MissionTix include better scanner systems and updates to the ticketing analytic dashboard, which allows venues to see where their tickets are being sold.
