The Barclays Center is a little more than two months away from its grand opening on September 28, but that isn’t stopping the venue from topping TicketNews’ exclusive venues ranking.

The venue which will host the newly relocated Nets — now referred to as the Brooklyn Nets — has been in the news consistently these past few months announcing big name artists who will be helping to kick-off the grand opening. Hip-hop mogul and part-owner of the Brooklyn Nets, Jay-Z was originally scheduled to open the venue on September 28 and have performances run through September 30. Due to an overwhelming demand Jay-Z added an addition five shows last week scheduled for October 1, 3, 4, 5, & 6. Presale tickets were available on Thursday, July 12 while the public onsale took place Friday, July 13.

The venue is also scheduled to host Barbra Streisand for two performances early October and Justin Bieber’s Believe Tour makes a stop there on November 12, among others.

Yankee Stadium continues to be successful remaining in the second position this week. After the All-Star break the New York Yankees hosted the Angels for a three-game series this past weekend, taking 2 of the 3 games. This week the Yankees will host the Blue Jays July 16-18 before hitting the road for a week to take on the Oakland A’s and Seattle Mariners. While they are gone the stadium will host the first of two soccer matches this season, Chelsea FC versus Paris Saint-Germain on July 22.

Cruising up to the No. 4 position this week is MGM Grand Garden Arena. MGM will play host to the second annual iHeartRadio Music Festival which is scheduled for September 21-22. The festival in its second year boasts a bevy of today’s top artists and reportedly sold out in eight minutes. Headliners for Friday’s concert include Rihanna, Usher, and Lil Wayne while Saturday offers country superstar Taylor Swift along with Aerosmith, and Bon Jovi. The full list of acts can be found on festival.iheart.com.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales for venues from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. A Power Score illustrates a given venue’s significance among all other venues listed in the Exchange. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales for a venue, and total ticket sales overall.
