New York City’s Madison Square Garden tops TicketNews®‘ top venues rankings for the week ending November 4, 2012.

Propelling Madison Square Garden to the top of the venues list this week was a highly anticipated face off in the NBA. Lebron James and defending champion Miami Heat visted Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks on Friday, November 2, in the Knicks regular season home opener. Despite the effects of Hurricane Sandy Knicks and Heat fans alike made their way to The Garden, where the Knicks came away with the win with a score of 104-84. The Knicks also hosted the Philadelphia 76ers on November 4 where they came away with another easy win.

Madison Square Garden has a busy week ahead with the Knicks hosting the Dallas Mavericks November 9, comedian Kevin Hart has two performances scheduled for November 10, and the “Queen of Pop” Madonna stops by for a pair of concerts November 12 and 13.

Also making a considerable gain this past week was the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Tickets for two upcoming concerts from the newly reunited Jonas Brothers went on sale to the general public this past Saturday, November 3 helping boost the venue from the tenth position last week up to second in this week’s rankings.

The Jonas Brothers will be visiting the Pantages Theatre later this month on November 27 through 29. The announcement comes after a successful performance at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall in October.

In addition to the Jonas Brothers concert announcement, Pantages Theatre is also currently hosting a production of “The Book of Mormon,” which is currently on a national tour. The show’s run at Pantages is scheduled through November 25.

Staying in Los Angeles we round out the top three this week with the Staples Center. With the kick off of the NBA season on October 30, the home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers jumped five spots from the previous week. To finish out this week the venue will host the Clippers vs. Spurs on November 7, and the Lakers vs. Warriors on November 9.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales for venues from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. A Power Score illustrates a given venue’s significance among all other venues listed in the Exchange. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales for a venue, and total ticket sales overall.
