As the year comes to a close, TicketNews is gathering data to determine ticket market breakdowns for the best sellers of multiple categories in 2017.

(See Cities and Venues here).

For 2017, duo or group tours made up a notable number of top sellers; understandably, as they’re able to draw in crowds from multiple fan bases to one show. At No. 1 is country music’s reigning power couple, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. The pair have been friends and collaborators since the late ’80s and married in 2005. Now, they wrap up a three-year, 390 show World Tour that continued to sell out stadiums throughout 2017.

Other multi-act tours that made Top 20 include fellow country couple Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, whose Soul2Soul Tour sold out 80 shows and has been extended into 2018, and U2 & The Lumineers, who joined up for ten shows on U2’s 30th Anniversary Joshua Tree Tour.

Some of the year’s most successful pop stars led the list, including Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga, who all topped Billboard charts and received Grammy nominations in 2017. Rounding out the Top 5 was the ever-popular Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

A particularly impressive Top 10 spot goes to Pink, given the fact that she didn’t perform a single tour date all year. Ticket sales to next year’s Beautiful Trauma World Tour, which began mid-October, propelled her to No. 7.

Other top selling tours of 2017 were Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Guns N’ Roses, and the only non-musical act on the list, ventriloquist and comedian Jeff Dunham.

Check out the full Top 20 below, based on ticket revenue and according to sales data from TicketNetwork’s marketplace, and be on the lookout for more year-end ticket market breakdowns to come.
