New Yorker Destiny Frasqueri, known onstage as Princess Nokia, just released a brand new mixtape and a slew of tour dates across the world.

The on-the-rise rapper became popular after her debut album, 1992 Deluxe, was released last year. “Tom Boy,” “Brujas,” and “Saggy Denim” were among the record’s most popular hits, garnering millions of Spotify streams each. Princess Nokia has been making way in the music scene since her 2014 mixtape, Metallic Butterfly. Now, she has gained so much attention that she scored a spot on the lineup at this year’s Coachella music festival.

Her latest mixtape, A Girl Cried Red, includes eight songs. “Your Eyes Are Bleeding” is the lead single on the mixtape, which Nokia herself describes as “emo.” A press statement describes A Girl Cried Red as “draw[ing] on influences as varied as the introverted acoustic sounds of Elliott Smith to the bombastic pop-punk energy of Paramore.”
