Sting and Shaggy were due to perform on their 44/876 tour in California and Arizona this week, but Sting is ill, causing three shows to be postponed.
On Monday, the duo were due to play at the Masonic in San Francisco, California, however the venue confirmed that Sting was ill and “unable to perform,” obeying doctor’s orders. The announcement came only an hour before showtime, which he apologized for.
“I’m sorry to have to postpone tonight’s show at the Masonic in San Francisco, but I can barely speak right now,” Sting wrote. “We will reschedule as soon as possible.”
Two more postponements followed in Santa Barbara, California and Phoenix, Arizona.
“Sting is still under the weather and advised not to perform by his doctor,” Live Nation said of the cancellations.
Concertgoers are told to hold onto their tickets while a new date is pending and more information will follow soon.
The 44/876 Tour, which kicked-off on September 15, will pick-up again on Friday in Rancho Mirage, California, followed by shows in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The trek is in support of Shaggy and Sting’s collaborative album 44/876, which was released in April.
