Former Smiths singer Morrissey was scheduled to perform a Canadian tour for the first time in 15 years, but due to a “medical emergency” he faced while traveling in Europe, he had to pause the highly-anticipated trek.

The tour was scheduled to kick-off last night with a pair of shows in Vancouver, followed by gigs in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg. However, before the Vancouver show, ticket holders were notified of his accident which occurred while touring in Europe. The shows in Edmonton, Vancouver, and Calgary have been moved to mid-October, while Calgary’s show is TBD. Ticketmaster has removed listings for the gigs in Saskatoon and Winnipeg, leaving those dates up in the air.

“Spirits are high and the artist is on the path to a swift recovery,” the statement read. “All tickets will be valid for the new dates and exchanges will not be necessary. Thank you for your understanding.”

His tour will pick up again in Toronto on April 26 and 27 and wrap-up on April 29 in Montreal. Then, he is scheduled to kick-off the In Residence on Broadway series at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre througoout May before hitting the road this fall for a co-headlining tour with the rockers of Interpol.

Morrissey has been known to cancel or postpone various shows throughout his career; since 2012, he’s cancelled or postponed 141 concerts, Consequence of Sound points out.

Check out his updated list of tour dates below.
