Hella Mega Tour.

These three words have been circulating online for days, with rumors of Green Day, Weezer, and Fall Out Boy heading out on a tour next year with the Interrupters. Fans were sent into a frenzy awaiting an official announcement. There’s an Instagram and Facebook account floating around,  garnering followers by the minute with a video of Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong singing “Wake Me Up When September Ends” with the chorus changed to “Wake me up on September 10.”

Now that September 10 is here, the bands joined Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beat 1 to share the news of a tour. They will kick things off in Europe next June, stopping in France, Belgium, Austria, Netherlands, and the UK before heading to the states in mid-July. They’ll stop at venues like Houston’s Minute Maid Park, Petco Park in San Diego, Detroit’s Comercia Park, Citi Field in New York City, and Boston’s Fenway Park before wrapping-up in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park.

Check out the official announcement video:

“It’s kind of a Green Day idea,” Armstrong said of the tour concept. “We talked about how we weren’t really wanting to do stadiums, and do something that was like [a] throwback to Monsters of Rock Tour.  There was, of course, Fall Out Boy and Weezer, and now we’re stoked.”

“I think this tour represents counter-programming,” Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz added. “I think that the world is moving in one direction in an obvious way, or whatever. I think that this tour represents counter programming to that and it’s awesome to take part in that and be a small part of it.”

If that wasn’t enough to send all the emo-heads out of control, each band released a new single and news of forthcoming albums. Green Day returned with “Father of All…” which is their first release since 2016’s Revolution Radio. Fall Out Boy, who dropped Mania last year, released “Dear Future Self (Hands Up)” with Wyclef Jean, and Weezer dropped “The End of the Game,” which follows their self titled Black Album.

Talk about an iconic day of releases.
