Just hours before his Indianapolis gig this past weekend, Sir Elton John cancelled the show, citing that he is “extremely unwell.”
The show was set to take place on October 26 at Indianapolis’ Bankers Life Fieldhouse. However, the 72-year-old took to Instagram to share the news that he wouldn’t be making it on stage.
“To my dear fans in Indianapolis, it is with the heaviest heart that I’m forced to deliver the news that I am extremely unwell and therefore unable to perform at @bankerslifefieldhouse tonight,” he said in the post. “I absolutely hate to let my fans down, but I owe it to you to put on the best #EltonFarewellTour show possible and unfortunately that’s simply not possible.”
The gig has been postponed to March 26, 2020, where he promises fans that he’ll “deliver the show you deserve.”
Nonetheless, John has triumphed and is set to appear tonight in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena. He’s also set to perform in Memphis on Wednesday. Earlier this year, John extended his Farewell Tour to make stops throughout New York in April before he officially retires to spend time with his husband and kids.
