The Austin City Limits Music Festival announced its return for 2021, with country legend George Strait, Billie Eilish, Stevie Nicks, Miley Cyrus, Rufus Du Sol, DaBaby, and Erykah Badu taking the stage as headliners. ACL Festival will take place at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas from October 1-3 and 8-10, with separate admission charged for the two weekends.
Plans are to host the festival with full capacity, though organizers indicated that they “are in regular communication with local health and public safety officials and will follow current recommendations and guidelines at the time of the festival. As the weekends approach, ACL Fest patrons will receive regular updates with important information regarding safety policies and procedures before entering Zilker Park.”
Tickets for ACL Festival are on sale Thursday, with prices ranging from $275 for a 3-day general admission ticket through $3,800 for a “platinum” VIP pass. There are also GA+ and standard VIP options in between, each carrying different access levels for patrons.
Strait, recently announced as the headlining act for the Houston Rodeo in 2022, is performing at ACL Fest for the first time in his storied career. The bill beyond the headliners continues the eclecic theme of the top-billed acts, which represent a wide variety of themes and fan bases. Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, Greta Van Fleet, St. Vincent, Modest Mouse, Future Islands and more will perform at the event, which was one of the many cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandmic a year ago.
“The return of Austin City Limits as an in-person festival celebrates that our efforts as a community to become vaccinated are working,” Austin Mayor Steve Adler said as part of the announcement. “Health and safety remain our top priority, and we will work closely with the organizers and Austin Public Health to ensure ACL Fest is in line with our health standards.”
