With live music returning in a big way as COVID vaccinations continue to drive down case rates, two anchors of the festival scene are skipping 2021. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced its plans to return to action on April 15-17 and 22-24, 2022. Stagecoach Festival will be back on April 29-May 1.

Both festivals were called off in 2020 due to the rapidly escalating pandemic. Initially, there were hopes to run in the fall, but those were dashed. Plans for a spring 2021 event were ended by California health officials in February. While numerous festivals have announced plans for fall operation this year as restrictions continue to be loosened around the U.S., Coachella and Stagecoach will wait it out and start fresh next year.

Organizers teased Tuesday’s announcement on social media, posting a short animation of zooming across the desert towards a stage, with “Do you hear it?” as the caption. Then today, the annoumceent followed.

Stagecoach also announced its return via social media, bringing the country-focused festival back as well.

Coachella tickets will be available beginning with an advance sale on Friday, June 4 at 10am (Pacific) for those who register through the Coachella website. Stagecoach, which is also operated by Goldenvoice, has not yet announced its onsale date, but is offering a registration for fans to be made aware of when they are.

Coachella ticket prices begin at $449 plus fees for general admission passes. Once that initial alottment is sold out, prices rise to $474 and then $499. Adding shuttle access jumps the price to $533. VIP passes run $929 plus fees for the initial batch, rising to $999 and then $1,049. From there are numerous add-ons, including camping, shuttle, special lodge access, and even safari camping, which doesn’t yet have a price tag.

Artists for both festivals will be announced in coming months.
