Jack’s Mannequin is officially reuniting and returning to the stage to celebrate the band’s 20-year anniversary this year.
The 24-date “MFEO Tour” kicks-off at Portland, Maine’s State Theatre on June 4, followed by gigs in Philadelphia, Charlotte, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Boston, appearing at venues like The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City, The National in Richmond, and Morrison’s Red Rocks Amphitheater. Following a pair of gigs in Tokyo and Osaka early September, the band will return to North America, stopping in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Toronto, and more before wrapping-up at The Sound in Del Mar on November 23.
Ahead of the trek, Jack’s Mannequin will also appear at this year’s Innings Festival in Tempe.
Tickets will be available starting with a fan club presale on Tuesday, followed by a Live Nation presale on Wednesday. A general on sale is set to take place Friday, January 31 here. Fans can also score resale tickets via Ticket Club (use code TICKETNEWS for a free, one-year membership).
Andrew McMahon, who founded Jack’s Mannequin in 2005, said that the band “was born out of one of the most prolific and transformative periods of my life.”
“The songs narrate my journey from youth to adulthood, heartbreak to marriage, cancer to remission,” McMahon said. “The health crisis at the heart of this journey often made it difficult for me to fully appreciate just how magical this music was and how powerfully it connected me to my bandmates and the audiences we played for.”
The group rose to fame with their 2005 debut Everything in Transit, garnering attention with tracks like “The Mixed Tape,” “Dark Blue,” and “Bruised.” The record was followed by The Glass Passenger in 2008 and 2011’s People And Things.Â
It’s been nearly 15 years since the band has toured this catalog exclusively, which McMahon said “feels like such a gift to do so at a time in my life when I feel able to truly celebrate what we created together.”
“Jack’s was always two things: a studio project and a live band that toured relentlessly,” McMahon said. “I’m so excited to bring it all back to life onstage for the fans that made it possible to take that strange and beautiful ride.”
McMahon will be joined by Bobby “Raw” Anderson on guitar, Jay McMillan on drums, and Mikey Wagner on bass and keys.
