The stars have aligned over a new Club Paradise Tour itinerary for hip-hop artist Drake, who was forced to postpone a planned fall North American routing for the tour.
Drake’s 2012 calendar opens with a February 14 event at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, FL, and runs through March 11 at Viejas Arena in San Diego, CA. Seventeen events are scheduled for the North American outing, which is immediately followed by March and April dates in Europe.
The U.S. leg of the Club Paradise Tour will feature support from Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky. Onsale dates and ticket prices have not been announced at this time.
The only Drake tickets currently available on Ticketmaster.com are for a few holiday concerts, where Drake is one of several billed artists. Drake will also headline his own New Year’s Day show at The Joint in Las Vegas, NV. Face values vary for these special events.
In an October 8 blog post, Drake cited on-going studio work in the postponement of the 2011 Club Paradise Tour.
“This music means too much to me to get attached to dates,” Drake wrote, adding that the tour would be rescheduled “when students are back from the Christmas/New Year break so that I can get to more schools.”
The release date of his album “Take Care” also was pushed back to November 15 from the originally planned October 24. When it finally was released, “Take Care” topped the Billboard 200.
