BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (TicketBiscuit) November 8, 2010 – TicketBiscuit, a leading ticketing solutions and services company, and WorkPlay, one of the South’s premiere entertainment venues, today announced a staffing shift designed to strengthen each company individually and fortify their almost decade-long relationship.

Under the new arrangement, WorkPlay talent buyer Todd Coder will join TicketBiscuit full time in a business development role, with a focus on continuing TicketBiscuit’s ten years of success in serving the nation’s best music venues. Coder will also continue to book national and regional talent for WorkPlay, while transitioning day-to-day duties to WorkPlay staff.

Coder originally joined WorkPlay as talent buyer in 2006, and has been instrumental in establishing it as one of the top music and entertainment venues in the nation.

Consistently voted best music venue in Birmingham by its patrons, Coder introduced an increased frequency of nationally recognized artists to the WorkPlay Theatre and WorkPlay Soundstage. Over the last year, Coder has produced a number of events outside the WorkPlay umbrella including, but not limited to: the Hangout Beach, Music & Arts Festival, the Concerts for the Coast Series which included Bon Jovi and Brad Paisley, and Back to the Beach 2010 featuring Vince Gill & Mary Chapin Carpenter.

The relationship between TicketBiscuit and WorkPlay goes back to the infancy of both companies. In 2001, when WorkPlay was just opening its doors, they engaged Gale as a technology consultant. “In one of our initial meetings, I pitched the ability to sell tickets online, and they loved the idea. Then, I went and built TicketBiscuit,” Gale recalls, “They were our first real client.”

TicketBiscuit has since expanded nationwide, now serving over 500 clients in 1500 venues. “Several of the features and elements that have made TicketBiscuit so successful were originally designed with WorkPlay in mind,” Gale said. “We’ve grown up with them, and it is our hope that this next phase in our relationship sets the stage for even further successful growth.”
