Another hurricane has hit the U.S., this time forcing the evacuation of thousands of residents of Florida and parts of Georgia and South Carolina. The Atlanta Braves announced on Thursday that they’d be offering free tickets to their four-game series against the Miami Marlins this weekend to any families displaced by the storm.

Derek Schiller, the Atlanta Braves President of Business, said in the statement on their website that, “We know how difficult it has been for those who have had to pack up and leave their homes as Hurricane Irma approaches. We hope we can help take their mind off the storm for a few hours by coming to enjoy a baseball game at SunTrust Park”.

Any residents from the state of Florida, or any county under evacuation orders in the bordering states, who sought refuge in the Atlanta area can simply show up at the Braves box office with a valid state ID for a complimentary ticket.

Several teams extended similar offers last week after Hurricane Harvey hit the Greater Houston area, and the Braves are kind to follow in these footsteps.

However, there was a slight misstep in their generosity when last night, at the first game that welcomed those fleeing the hurricane, the team played the Scorpions song “Rock You Like A Hurricane” in between innings. A writer for the Miami Herald went on to explain the blunder with the following tweet:

Likely an honest mistake, but an insensitive one, nonetheless. If fans can forgive them, the Braves will take the Marlins again tonight at 7:35 PM, Saturday at 7:00 PM, and Sunday at 1:35 PM.
