The inauguration finally has a rock ball. Rock The Vote presents the “Hey, America Feels Kinda Cool Again” Inaugural Gala on January 19 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, featuring Beastie Boys, Sheryl Crow, Citizen Cope and Justin Jones on the night before President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration.
Tickets for the all-ages show went on sale January 10, and are priced at $75. There is a four ticket per person limit. All tickets will be given out at will call on the night of the show and a valid ID must be presented to claim the tickets. Net proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Rock The Vote, which uses music, popular culture and new technologies to engage and incite young people to register and vote in every elections.
Fresh off their combined efforts on the Get Out and Vote ’08 voter awareness tour, Beastie Boys and Sheryl Crow will play full sets.
