Billy Joel has added a fourth Hard Rock Live show in South Florida on January 18 due to overwhelming demand. The added concert comes after shows for January 2, 4 and 16 sold out immediately, earlier this week. Tickets for the fourth show go on sale November 15.

Joel’s January shows at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, are part of a limited number of concerts in selected cities this winter. The South Florida concerts will be his first in North America since his record-breaking and critically-acclaimed two “Last Play at Shea” concerts at New York’s Shea Stadium this past July. In addition to the Hard Rock Live shows, only a February 14 concert at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, NV, has been confirmed.

Last month, Joel performed at the one-off, pre-election Change Rocks benefit at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom for President-elect Barack Obama. And later this month, Joel heads Down Under for a series of six concerts in Australia and New Zealand, beginning November 23 in Perth, AU, and concluding December 16 in Aukland, NZ.

Also on Joel’s itinerary is an encore tour with Elton John set for 2009; they last toured in 2002. John was on “The View” on November 11 and said that they can be on the road for at least two years. Arena concerts are expected in March and May in select cities with tickets prices expected to top out at $175.

“It’s two people for the price of one,” John said on the talk show. “Our ticket prices are the same as you’d see anyone else, but there’s two of us. In this day and age, we hope to be getting people value for their money.”
