Twenty-five of the 30 productions currently playing on Broadway enjoyed either a boost or no significant change in ticket sales this past week. Overall, sales were to $23,765,755, up from the previous reporting period ending June 19 of $22,679,495. For the season, total revenue is $88,584,652, up 1.8 percent over the same period last year of $86,976,957.

Eight productions reported box office receipts in excess of $1 million: “Wicked” at the Gershwin leading again at $1,830,739, “The Lion King” at the Minskoff, $1,748,215, “Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark” at the Foxwoods, $1,702,866, “The Book of Mormon” at the Eugene O’Neill, $1,215,619, “Mary Poppins” at the New Amsterdam, “Jersey Boys” at the August Wilson, $1,068,423, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” at the Al Hirschfeld, $1,054,587 and lastly “The Phantom of the Opera” at the Majestic, $1,006,430. The play “Master Class” in its second week of previews reported the lowest return at the box office, $226,694; though up significantly from its first week’s ticket sales of $179,263.

Looking at overall returns of plays, “War Horse” at the Beaumont continues to lead ticket sales at $960,285, followed by “The Motherf**ker With the Hat” at the Broadway at $741,518.

Once again, attendance was up from 82.83 percent the previous week to 87.41 percent with an impressive 13 shows reporting 95 percent or better capacity. Seven shows reported 100 percent or better. They were the musical “The Book of Mormon” repeating last week’s 102.43 percent, followed by “Anything Goes” at the Stephen Sondheim, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” “Spiderman,” “The Lion King,” “War Horse” and “Wicked.” Again, “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” playing at the Richard Rodgers once again reported the lowest percentage of capacity at 42.67 percent. It will close its doors this Sunday, July 3.

Three shows achieved 95 percent or better of their Gross Gross Potential, with “Wicked” reporting 116.87 percent, “The Lion King” 103.43 percent and “The Book of Mormon” rat 102.29 percent. Reporting the lowest figure was “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo,” 28.49 percent.

Once again, five shows posted tickets with face values at or exceeding $300. “Jersey Boys” still leads at $350 followed by “How to Succeed in Business,” “Bengal Tiger,” “The Addams Family” and “Wicked.” “Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles” offered the best bargain-priced average ticket at $53.27.
