Canadian pop/rocker Bryan Adams will have a busy summer opening for Foreigner and for Rod Stewart while also throwing in a few solo acoustic shows at more intimate clubs and theaters. Adams opens nine times for Foreigner from July 15-26, seven times with Stewart from July 30-August 9 and six solo acoustic shows within that time frame.

Last month, Adams also performed solo acoustically across the States previewing new material from his new album “11” that was released through Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores in May. It was No. 1 in Canada and entered Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart at No. 7. It is not only is 11th studio album but features 11 songs recorded in hotel rooms and backstage areas of concert venues across Europe over the last two years.

“I think for a lot of people that haven’t heard me do [an acoustic show] before, it will be intriguing because to play a song like ‘Cuts Like a Knife’ on acoustic guitar is quite a different thing than hearing it with a full band,” Adams said during a recent press teleconference. “I believe that that will give some insight into the songwriting, and it shows that some of the new songs blend in. It’s like one solid body of work.”
