Disney Channel actress Demi Lovato is taking the next step in her musical career by launching a summer-long headlining tour. The 16-year-old’s trek launches June 21 at the XL Center in Hartford, CT, and ends August 24 at Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH.

The 47-city tour will hit arenas from coast-to-coast over a two-month period. Highlights include a June 24 show at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, a July 3 concert at Reliant Arena in Houston, TX, a July 17 performance at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, and an August 12 show at Summet Center in Nashville, TN.

American Idol runner-up David Archuleta will provide support throughout the summer. Up-and-coming acts Jordan Pruitt and KSM will appear as special guests on select dates, as well.

Members of the Lovato’s official Say Now fan community can access a special pre-sale beginning today, April 15. Public on-sales for the summer tour begin on April 25.

“I’m so excited about headlining my own tour,” Lovato said in an interview with People. “I love life on the road. I’m in a different city every night and it never gets old.”

Lovato is supporting her debut album, “Don’t Forget,” released in September 2008. The young musician co-wrote a large portion of the album with Jonas Brothers. The record hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and has since been reissued as a deluxe edition.

Lovato, who opened for Jonas Brothers’ summer 2008 tour, will resume her supporting role for the sibling trio this year. Before launching her headlining venture, Lovato will open for the brothers on a handful of European concerts in early June.
