Fresh off back-to-back festival performances on September 13-14, R&B singer Eric Benét is on the road again in support of his new album, “Love & Life.” The tour continues September 19 when Benét performs at the sixth annual Hoodie Awards in Las Vegas, NV.

The 20-date tour, which kicked off on September 6 at the Majic 30th Anniversary Jam in St. Louis, MO, is scheduled to wrap October 18 at the Nokia Theatre in Dallas, TX. Highlights include a September 26 gig at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach, SC, and an October 7-8 run at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA.

“Love & Life,” released September 9, is the fourth studio album for Benét, who debuted in 1996 with “True to Myself.” The Milwaukee, WI, native has had three No. 1 hits, including his Grammy nominated duet with Tamia, “Spend My Life With You.”

“Some of the best R&B for me growing up had a dash of gospel, a couple dashes of jazz. You could feel the social consciousness and you could feel where the artist was in their life,” Benét said in a statement on his Web site. “I want people to be able to discover some of the truths that I have and to feel the passion for life written between the lines and, to just to put it pure and simply, to be moved by my music.”

Soul singer-songwriter Dwele opens for Benét throughout the trek, touring in support of his own recent album, “Sketches of a Man.” His current single, “I’m Cheatin,” gave Dwele his highest solo chart placement, peaking at No. 29 on U.S. R&B charts. The singer placed at No. 12 on the same charts as a featured guest on Kanye West‘s 2007 single “Flashing Lights.”
