Farm Aid 2008, scheduled for September 20 festival at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA, previously announced headlining performances by Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews. Now the rest of the lineup is starting to take shape.
Joining the headliners and the previously announced Kenny Chesney are: The Pretenders, moe., Arlo Guthrie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Steve Earle, Jakob Dylan and The Gold Mountain Rebels, Nation Beat, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Danielle Evin, Jamey Johnson, Jesse Lenat, Will Dailey, One Flew South and The Elms. Additional performers are expected to be added.
Presented by Whole Foods Market and Horizon Organic, the annual benefit concert will celebrate music and food. The event features hands-on activities in the Homegrown Village that will showcase the direct connection between who is growing our food and what we eat every day.
Face value of tickets are priced at $35 for lawn, $55 for uncovered seats, $95 for covered seats and $200 for VIP plus a $7 parking and facility fee for all tickets. Doors will open at 1 p.m. with the music to start soon after. The show is expected to end at 11 p.m.
Since its beginning, Farm Aid has traveled the country, staging annual concerts and supporting local organizations working to strengthen family farms. Farm Aid builds the Good Food Movement by connecting people with family farmers who are increasing the supply of local, humanely raised, sustainable and organic food. This is the first time the annual benefit concert is being staged in the northeast.
