Hot 97 Summer Jam‘s 2009 return to Giants Stadium in E. Rutherford, NJ, on June 7 will go down as the final hip hop concert at the venue prior to its demolition later this year, as a new stadium finalizes construction.

More than 50,000 hip hop fans are expected to turn out to see Mary J Blige, T. Pain, The Dream, Young Jeezy, Jadakiss, and Jim Jones & Juelz Santana. More acts are yet to be announced, and the whole event will be hosted by Tracy Morgan.

Ticket prices range from $40-$165 and went on sale April 22 via Ticketmaster, along with VIP ticket packages. A very limited amount of exclusive Hot 97 Summer Jam Backstage Pre-party packages are available for $350 including premium show seats, elite parking and passes to the Backstage Pre-party including open bar from 5 to 7 p.m. with Hot 97 DJs, celebrities and performing artists before they hit the stage.

A portion of the ticket sale proceeds will benefit Hot 97’s Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation, providing financial assistance to charities that benefit tri-state communities.

This is Summer Jam’s 16th season and sixth time at Giants stadium. Since 1994, the hip hop event has outgrown New York City arenas and in 2003 moved into Giants Stadium to accommodate fans.

“Summer Jam is the biggest hip hop festival in world,” event producer Carl Freed, president of Trevanna Entertainment, told TicketNews. “To get on the Summer Jam stage is the ultimate achievement for any hip hop act. Every major act has played the show, and it is what up-and-coming artists aspire to. We are currently in negotiations with the new stadium to be one of the first concerts to be held in that great new facility next year.”

Boost Mobile is the Hot 97 Summer Jam 2009 presenting sponsor for the sixth consecutive year. “Every year we see Hot 97 Summer Jam get bigger and better, and we anticipate another sellout concert this year,” said Caralene Robinson, director of marketing for Boost Mobile, in a statement.
