Indigo Girls — Amy Ray and Emily Saliers — currently on a summer tour with dates issued through July 19, have added a 20-date, 17-city fall leg. The tour begins September 11 in Spartanburg, SC and continues through October 5, which includes a three-night run at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. More dates are to come.
Ray and Saliers continue to tour behind their 2006 release, “Despite Our Differences.”
Indigo Girls’ new album will be out in February and marks their first indie album since 1987 when they released “Strange Fire.” In addition to the studio tracks recorded with their band — Matt Chamberlain on drums, Clare Kenny on bass and Mitchell Froom on keyboards — they will also release an acoustic version of the songs plus at least one new song not on the band’s album.
