Far from running on empty, singer-songwriter Jackson Browne has announced his latest slate of U.S. concert dates, almost a full year after he first began his 2008-2009 world tour. Unlike the previous legs of his trek, though, Browne will be going solo for his next batch of intimate shows.
The Fall 2009 Solo Acoustic Tour will visit theaters and art centers in at least 20 markets around the country, launching November 1 at The Forum Auditorium in Harrisburg, PA. The five-week jaunt is currently scheduled to wrap on December 7 at the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines in Des Moines, IA.
Highlights of the late-year run include performances on November 9 at Lyric Opera House in Baltimore, MD; November 17 at Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in Orlando, FL; November 30 at Bass Concert Hall in Austin, TX; and December 4 at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN.
The tour will primarily focus on markets along the eastern seaboard, ending with a handful of concert dates further west, but falling short of any West Coast markets. Public onsale dates and general ticketing information for the trek will be announced in the near future.
Browne is touring behind his twelfth studio album, “Time the Conqueror,” released in late September 2008. Though the veteran performer has earned his share of accolades over his four-decade career, this most recent album gave him his highest-ever spot on the Billboard 200 with a No. 20 peak.
The musician’s world tour kicked off in mid-September 2008 with a round of late fall U.S. concerts. Browne also completed recent concert runs in the Asia-Pacific, as well as the UK and Europe. Most recently, he wrapped a summer tour of the U.S. and Canada with an August 31 performance at the Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul.
