Since closing out last year with a performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve telecast, pop singer Jesse McCartney has been on a break. But the 21-year-old will be back to work soon enough, with a recently announced U.S. tour on the books for later this winter.

The nearly 20-city tour will kick off February 13 at Palladium Ballroom in Dallas, TX, and conclude March 10 at the House of Blues in San Diego, CA. McCartney will stop along the way for a February 18 concert at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL, a February 26 gig at Nokia Theatre in New York, NY, and a March 3 set at Center Stage in Atlanta, GA, among other shows.

McCartney is continuing to support his May 2008 release “Departure,” his third solo album. The disk maintained the vocalist’s momentum from his 2006 release “Right Where You Want Me” by peaking at No. 14 on the Billboard 200.

The singer got his start with the late ’90s boy band Dream Street, but after the group broke up in 2002, McCartney moved on to an acting career. It wasn’t until 2004 that the singer-songwriter returned to music with his debut “Beautiful Soul.”
