Ticket sales for the North American leg of the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009, beginning June 20 at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX, are going through the roof.

This past weekend, fans purchased more than 800,000 tickets resulting in sold-out arena shows in major cities including New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA; Washington DC; Houston, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; Edmonton, AB; New Orleans, LA; and Atlanta, GA. Second dates were immediately added in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Vancouver. Among those sellouts were five arena shows in the New York area to meet the fan demand.

This is the second year of Live Nation’s exclusive 140-concert deal with Jonas Brothers. High demand for the tour already caused the Jonas Brothers fan club to crash during presales.

“Ticket sales for this tour have been phenomenal,” said Jason Garner, CEO of Global Music for Live Nation, in a statement. “The band has already sold out arena dates in 13 major cities, including Madrid, London and Paris, and with additional dates going on sale in Mexico and South America and Europe in April, it’s clear to us that Jonas Brothers are a true global touring powerhouse.”

Presented by Burger King and produced by Live Nation, the brothers will trek across 44 North American cities finishing up on August 31 in Ottawa, ON, at Scotiabank Place. Touring with their most ambitious production yet, it includes a massive 140-foot plus in-the-round stage, cutting edge technology used in a one-of-a-kind circular water screen, multi-color laser effects, motion automated video screens, a giant crane levitating over the audience plus other surprises.

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks and up-and-coming group Honor Society are supporting acts on the North American leg of Jonas Brothers’ tour.
